Manila impressions

It's raining and it's cloudy.
On the streets you have to cope with bad stench of exhaust fumes. 90 - 100% humidity makes it even more annoying and difficult to bear - the smell of car exhaust is even more penetrating, as if the moisty air gave to it some extra power. No wind, no nothing. It's just a dark, wet, hot, gloomy place. Pretty much like hell (AFAIR :^)
And since it's only 15 degrees N, the day is short - 12 hours. So as we get dawn at 0600 then we get sunset at 18. And damn, it's hot. And moisty. And you sit all days in AC'ed rooms and you freeze your ass off. You hope that you'd be better after you get outside, but it's so hot and moisty and smelly that the second you get out you want to get back.
I guess if you're very rich you could (perhaps) afford a place here that's not smelly, next to the ocean (perhaps even with a small breeze?). Too bad I am not rich ;-/
But people are nice, very friendly and very musical. Everybody sings and stuff. In most pubs you see live performances (not always good performance, but sometimes surprisingly good). And women are beautiful - small and child-like, gentle and very oriental. This is heaven for pedophiles, as all chicks look like they're 12-14... But this is because they're just so small...
Didn't have a chance to see much of the city as I had to stay in the office untill late...
BTW - did I mention it's raining?

/UPDATE - same day, 6h later/
Do you remember this awesome movie Blade Runner? Remember that future LA? 2019, to be exact? Remember the smog, the skyscrapers, abandoned reinforced concrete constructions, oriental smells and neons, constant drizzle, etc? That was no LA. That was Manila...

Sorry, dude, no pics this time - my lovely Nikon is being serviced, so I'm travelling lightly (without additional 8 kgs of photo equipment ;-)
